Good luck to Dynamite and Monkey Joe, two mixed-breed dogs, who will represent the AKC and the United States as part of the AKC European Open Agility Team! The world competition takes place this weekend, July 24-26, in Reiden, Germany.
Dynamite and Monkey Joe earned spots on the team during the AKC World Team Try-outs held in May in Hopkins, MN. They both will compete as part of the Medium size team.
Both dogs are members of the AKC Canine Partners program for all dogs, including mixed-breeds and rescues.
It will be the second time on the European Open team for 4-year-old Dynamite, whose formal name is T.N.T. MX MXJ. Her owner, Shenna Lemche of St. Paul, MN, describes the Border Collie-terrier mix as “a wonderful teammate and companion.”
Two-year old Monkey Joe, owned by Naci Berkoz of Tarzana, CA, will make his debut on the team this year. Monkey Joe’s formal name is The One & Only Mini Great Ape Joe AX AXJ.
Monkey Joe was in a litter of puppies found with their mother in a ravine near Los Angeles, but luckily they were rescued and Monkey Joe found a great home with Naci!
