Reba’s Fancy Red Heart BN RI FDC CA BCAT ACT2 SWNE SWM SCME SIEE SHDE THDN CGCA CGCU TKI owned by Barbara Bumcrots of Maumee, OH

Reba, Barbara’s first rescue dog, came from the Golden Retriever Rescue Resource from Toledo, OH. Apparently, her father was a golden, but her mother must have been a Toller. Barbara has always had a “soft spot” for a red colored Golden Retriever and Reba fit the bill and her smaller size was a plus.

When Barbara got Reba she was 8 months old and had already had two homes. They began working together right away, in agility which she had trained her previous dog for. “Reba likes it in class but not as much in a competition setting (no treats!)” said Barbara. Reba began with her over-achieving ways by earning titles in Rally, Obedience, Barn Hunt, Therapy Dog, AKC’s Trick Dog Program, Coursing Ability, and Fast CAT. “We have played with some dock diving – we don’t compete, but she loves the water and swimming.”

“Then I started to dabble in Scent Work,” said Barbara. “I found a thing that she excels in.” It only took her 13 months to earn her SWM (AKC Scent Work Master Level title). She was the third dog to earn this distinction and the first All American/Canine Partner dog to do so! “She has racked up tons (34) of Scent Work titles to date. We are now working on the Detective class and we just earned our first Q.”
