Carmen adopted pit bull mix, Zoey, from Sacramento County Animal Care and Regulation at about 9 months of age.

“Zoey gets along well with other dogs and animals and loves all people, in particular children. She frequently makes me laugh with her outgoing personality. Zoey is very intelligent and quickly learns new exercises/behaviors.”

At 1 year of age, Zoey was certified with Therapy Dogs International. Zoey also has competed in flyball and earned flyball titles. Zoey excels at obedience, earning her Novice, Open, and Utility titles all in three tries each (nine classes total), and winning first place eight out of nine times.

She is currently ranked in third place in AKC Obedience competition for All-American Dogs and recently won a High Combined award at the Yosemite Kennel Club trial. She finished the UD on Jan. 18, 2014, at the San Mateo Dog Training Club trial.
