Is the largest of the spaniel breeds.

Descended from dogs of the 14th century.

The French Spaniel has been assigned the Sporting Group designation.

From the July 2012 Board Meeting - The French Spaniel was approved to compete in Pointing Hunting Tests Events effective October 1, 2012.

One of the oldest pointing breeds.

Points at game rather than flush.

From the May 2012 Board Meeting - Two new breeds were added to the Foundation Stock Service Program - the French Spaniel and Tornjak.

Known in the 14th century for hunting and falconry.

Is thought to be used to develop many of the hunting breeds today.

The French Spaniel has been recorded in the Foundation Stock Service since May 2012.
