Junior Report: Brianna Fryer

Jazzy and I first started dog training and showing with the local 4-H club. Since that day, we didn’t want to stop. Training Jazzy is always the highlight of my day. Since we live in Florida it gets very hot, even on the most miserable days it makes it not as bad when you spend quality training time with your best friend.

I never really got why people said that their best friend was their dog, until I got Jazzy. Once we started training together, we formed an unbreakable bond. Jazzy and I read each other like the back of our hand or paw.

Training and showing Jazzy helped me realize that I want to become a professional dog trainer for my career. In order to afford to compete in AKC shows I help train other people’s dogs, make collars, make leashes, and dog sit. I have helped train; two pit bulls, a parson russell terrier, a terrier mix, two dachshund/beagle mixes, a dachshund, a germen shepherd/basenji mix, a lab, and a border collie mix.

Right now Jazzy has her Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Beginner Novice (BN), Novice Agility (NA), and Novice Agility Jumpers (NAJ). In Agility we compete in Standard, Jumping with Weaves, and FAST. We will compete in Novice Obedience this year. This year we plan to double the amount of shows we did last year and participate in Dog Agility Competition Of Florida (DACOF). This year we will continue to compete in Agility, Obedience, and possibly Rally. We can’t wait to see what this year brings!
