AKC Pen Pawls inspires curiosity and learning by connecting children with Bailey the Beagle, AKC Public Education’s mascot. Through personalized letters, AKC Public Education provides educational and informational content that teaches kids all about various topics, such as purebred dogs, AKC sports and events, and responsible ownership, while fostering a love of reading, writing, and discovery. FAQ

  • How does the program work? +

    Children of any age can write and mail a letter to Bailey asking questions about dogs, such as: “What’s the biggest dog breed?” or “I want a dog that I can swim with in the pool, which dogs are good swimmers?”, etc. 

    Then, Bailey will send her response back via mail with fun resources applicable to the topic of the letter. A response can be expected from Bailey within 2-3 weeks of receipt.  

  • Is the program free? +

    There are no costs associated with this program (except the cost of postage).
