About AKC Pups in the Classroom

In AKC Pups in the Classroom, each day students will be read a dog-themed book and complete a learning activity.
Throughout this unit, students will participate in learning activities that allow them to practice essential language and early reading skills like; predicting, comparing, phonics, letter recognition, vocabulary, and comprehension. Students will also engage in math-related activities such as counting, sorting, identifying shapes, and completing patterns.
In addition, this unit allows students to be able to practice and refine their fine and gross motor skills, engage in sensory activities, and they will be provided with social-emotional learning opportunities.
Lesson extension opportunities and additional learning resources and activities are all included within this comprehensive two-week unit.
