AKC Public Education has created a way to further involve young people in activities with their dogs. AKC Canine and Me is a program that invites teens (13 and older) and young adults to complete specific activities with their dog(s) and send a short video to AKC to show off their progress.

Each month, we will provide participants with a brief introduction to each AKC sport and event and encourage them to try some basic elements of the sport/event.  Participants will record themselves and their dog(s) completing the various skills and then upload their videos through the Cinebody app. At the end of each quarter, one person will be chosen to win a $50 Amazon gift card.

Junior Showmanship offers children between the ages of 9 and under 18 years of age an opportunity to develop their handling skills, learn about good sportsmanship, dogs, and dog shows. Juniors are judged on their ability to present, or handle, their dogs as they would in the breed ring.
