The American Kennel Club (AKC) has learned that both New Jersey Senate Bill 3041 and Senate Bill 1640 are scheduled for consideration by the New Jersey Senate on Monday, March 13, 2017.

The American Kennel Club has been advised that Senate Bill 283 will be amended to include "commercial dog breeder regulations". We understand the amendment will be proposed for approval by the Senate Commerce and Labor Committee on Tuesday, March 14, at 1:30 p.m.

AKC asks all dog owners and breeders in New Jersey to contact their Assembly member and Assembly Speaker Prieto and respectfully urge opposition to A.2338 until the concerns outlined below are addressed.

The Delaware House Health and Human Development Committee will consider a bill tomorrow (Wednesday, March 15), that would protect the rights of responsible Delaware dog owners by prohibiting any dog from being declared 'potentially dangerous' or 'dangerous' under state law simply based on the dog's breed.
