The American Kennel Club is proud to offer a Junior Showmanship Scholarship Program. The criteria for awarding the scholarships includes the following:
- applicant’s academic achievement and potential;
- applicant’s involvement in the fancy;
- applicant must be a junior member or have volunteered to work for a club and provide documentation on club stationary;
- GPA of at least 3.0 or greater;
- applicant’s financial need.
Each applicant is required to submit current school transcripts, as well as an essay including a description of his or her experiences and interests in purebred dogs, including an explanation of how the individual perceives his or her future role in the fancy.
