The annual Beverly Hills Dog Show presented by Purina attracts a cast of Hollywood stars each year. This year’s event is co-hosted by John O’Hurley, an award-winning TV personality, author, and Broadway actor along with David Frei, an AKC judge and expert analyst.

When does the show air?

Held on February 29, 2020 at Fairplex in Pomona, California, the show was originally set to air April 5. Due to COVID-19, production was postponed and the show will now air on May 17 from 8 to 10 p.m. E.T. Get your popcorn ready!

Who will I see?

Before more than 1,500 dogs will compete for the coveted Best in Show title, the canine competitors will mingle with celebrity guests and walk the red carpet. This year’s dog-loving celebrity guests include Lauren Ash, Brian Baumgartner, Reece Caddell, Jade Catta-Preta, Olivia Culpo, Ester Dean, Bo Derek, Doug the Pug, Parveen Kaur, MJ Javid & Tommy Feight, Nastia Liukin, Greg Louganis, Ariana Madix, Justine Marino, Caitlin McGee, Miss America 2020 Camille Schrier and Jocko Sims.

Who won last year?

Last year’s Best in Show winner was Bono the Havanese. Bono was the top dog in 2019 and won the Toy Group at 2020’s Westminster Dog Show.

How do dog shows work?

If you’re unfamiliar with dog shows, now is a great time to get learning! Study up on some of the common dog show terms you may hear during the show. Also, familiarize yourself with how a dog show winner is chosen. As a hint, the dogs are not judged against each other. Rather, each dog is judged against their individual breed standard.
