Foundation Stock Service® Breeds' Eligibility in Performance Events
As of February 9, 2007, the AKC Board of Directors approved the eligibility of Foundation Stock breeds that meet certain criteria to compete in AKC Performance Events, this will be effective January 1, 2008.
Eligible breeds can compete in select Performance events. To become eligible the breeds must have the following:
- dogs with three generation pedigrees recorded in the FSS®
- a national breed club
- a breed standard
The breeds that currently meet the criteria are:
Coonhound Events
- American English Coonhound
- Bluetick Coonhound
- Redbone Coonhound
- Treeing Walker Coonhound
Hunting Tests
- Bracco Italiano – effective 1/1/10
- Boykin Spaniel
- Portuguese Pointer
- Small Munsterlander Pointer
- Wirehaired Vizsla
Earthdog Events
- Cesky Terrier
- Rat Terrier
- Russell Terrier
Lure Coursing Events
- Azawakh
- Cirneco dell'Etna - effective 7/1/10
- Portuguese Podengo
- Sloughi
- Thai Ridgeback
Herding Events
- Appenzeller Sennehunde
- Belgian Laekenois
- Berger Picard
- Boerboel
- Entlebucher Mountain Dog
- Finnish Lapphund
- Icelandic Sheepdog
- Lancashire Heeler
- Mudi
- Pumi
- Schapendoes
