My wing-like ears may remind you of a beautiful butterfly. I am descended from the dwarf spaniel, an extremely popular toy dog of sixteenth and seventeenth century Europe. I spent my days sitting on the laps of royalty throughout Europe for centuries. Famous French rulers Marie Antoinette and Louis XIV were devoted owners of my breed.

One of my favorite things to do is cuddle with my owner, to whom I become affectionately attached for life. I like to play with toys inside and am a hardy outdoor companion as well — perfect for city and country dwellers alike. I am highly trainable.

I am mostly white with patches of other colors, usually black. My coat is long and silky. My hair flows extra long on my ears, chest and plume-like tail.

I am friendly, elegant, fine-boned and lively. I am a member of the toy group.
