South Dakota: Bill to Prohibit BSL Passes Senate, Assigned to House Committee

(Thursday, February 06, 2014)
As we previously reported, South Dakota House Bill 75 seeks to prohibit local governments from enacting, maintaining, or enforcing regulations on certain dog breeds. The bill has already passed the full Senate, and has been assigned to the House Local Government Committee for consideration. AKC Government Relations (AKC GR) expects that the bill will soon be scheduled for consideration. The American Kennel Club strongly endorses SB 75, and encourages all South Dakotans to email the committee members listed below to express support and urge passage of this important, non-discriminatory legislation.
