Companion Event Extravaganza Winners Crowned In Tulsa, Oklahoma

(Monday, March 18, 2013)

New York, N.Y. – Eleven AKC® National Agility Champions, one National Obedience Champion and four AKC Rally® National Competition class winners were crowned from an entry of more than 1,600 dogs at the inaugural Companion Events Extravaganza, hosted by the American Kennel Club® (AKC®) this weekend in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

“Congratulations to our new National Champions and class winners,” said Carrie DeYoung, AKC Director of Agility. “We’d like to thank everyone who made the first Companion Events Extravaganza possible, including the entrants, volunteers and AKC staff. The Expo Square facility and the city of Tulsa were wonderful hosts.”

“The inaugural AKC Companion Events Extravaganza was very successful -- you could feel the excitement in the air throughout the events,” said Pamela Manaton, Director of Obedience, Rally and Tracking. “We received many positive comments about hosting all three national competitions together and we look forward to next year’s Extravaganza!”
