OH High-Volume Breeder Legislation Heads to Governor

(Thursday, November 29, 2012)

Ohio Senate Bill 130, which seeks to regulate those who both breed 9 litters of puppies and sell 60 dogs in a calendar year, has been approved by the Ohio General Assembly and is going to the Governor.  The AKC appreciates that most of the changes we and our federation requested have been incorporated into the bill.  Should Governor Kasich sign the bill, the AKC will closely monitor the regulatory process to ensure that the rules are in the best interest of dogs and responsible breeders.

Read AKC’s previous Legislative Alert for more information on this bill.
