Invisible Fence® Brand Returns As National Sponsor of AKC Responsible Dog Ownership Days

(Thursday, July 23, 2009)

New York, NYThe American Kennel Club® is pleased to welcome Invisible Fence®Brand as a returning sponsor of AKC Responsible Dog Ownership Days (AKC RDO Days). A nationwide initiative in its seventh year, AKC RDO Days engage dog-related organizations across the country to educate the public about the importance of being a responsible dog owner and in celebrating the deep bond between humans and their canine companions.

The AKC will hold its flagship AKC Responsible Dog Ownership Day event in Raleigh, N.C. on September 26, 2009. It will include AKC Canine Good Citizen® testing, agility demonstrations, games, free brochures, giveaways and the ever-popular AKC Meet the Breeds® exhibit featuring dozens of AKC breeds for the public to meet and learn about. In addition, nearly 5,000 AKC affiliated dog clubs as well as dog-related organizations nationwide are invited to take part by holding a community event that publicly promotes responsible dog ownership anytime during the month of September.

Last year, more than 600 dog clubs and organizations hosted AKC RDO Day events, reaching millions of dog lovers and potential pet owners through event participation and local media coverage. Invisible Fence®Brand, the leader in electronic pet containment, will participate in local events where dealers and distributors are available.

"We are delighted to join AKC in promoting responsible dog ownership," said Lori Sharp, Brand Manager of Invisible Fence®Brand. "Our company was founded on the principles of pet safety and responsible dog ownership and we are proud to join AKC in reaching out to America’s dog owners."

"Invisible Fence®Brand is a wonderful partner and supporter of AKC RDO Days. They have helped dog owners care for their pets by providing safety solutions indoors and out for more than 30 years and we are pleased to have them participate in our events this September," said Daisy Okas, AKC’s Assistant Vice President of Communications. "We appreciate their commitment to sharing the responsible dog ownership message."
