After extensive research into different types of flooring available, the AKC Agility staff has made the decision to use a 3/8″ non-slip rubber matting for the surface at the Championship. This rubber matting will replace the surface previously listed in the Nationals Premium List of carpet over padding.

This surface is used in agility training facilities and a growing number of AKC agility trials. Two of the training facilities that are currently using this surface are Skyline Agility Club in New York and Country Sides Agility Club in Pennsylvania. It also will be used at the Crown Classic trials in Cleveland, Ohio in December, 2004.

To familiarize yourself with the surface, you may visit the website of the manufacturer at www.rbrubber.com
