New York, NY—The American Kennel Club® has announced that the Invisible Fence® Brand has signed on as a sponsor of the fifth annual AKC Responsible Dog Ownership Day (AKC RDO Day), a nationwide initiative that educates the public about the importance of being a responsible dog owner and celebrates the deep bond between humans and their canine companions.

In honor of the day, the AKC will hold flagship events in Raleigh, N.C. and New York City on September 15, 2007 that will include AKC Canine Good Citizenship testing, agility demonstrations, games, free brochures and giveaways. One of the highlights includes an AKC Meet the Breeds exhibit featuring dozens of purebred dogs. In addition, nearly 5,000 AKC affiliated dog clubs as well as dog-related organizations nationwide are invited to take part by holding a community event that publicly promotes responsible dog ownership anytime during the month of September.

Last year, more than 350 dog clubs and organizations hosted AKC RDO Day events, reaching millions of dog lovers and potential pet owners through event participation and local media coverage.

“Responsible dog ownership is what we are all about, “said Mark Thomas of Invisible Fence Brand. “Our company was created out of a commitment to the safety of dogs. Supporting the AKC’s efforts to promote responsible dog ownership is something we are proud to do.”

“We are thankful to Invisible Fence Brand for its generous support of AKC RDO Day, as well as their dedication to responsible dog ownership,” said Daisy Okas, AKC’s Assistant Vice President of Communications. “Invisible Fence Brand is the leader in its field, using technology to create safe environments for pets, both indoors and out. We look forward to their participation in the New York City and Raleigh events.”
