The American Kennel Club® (AKC®) has announced the resignation of Connie Pearcy, the Assistant Vice President of the Internal Consulting Group (ICG) and the promotion of Kristi Munchel from Senior Consultant to Director of ICG, effective July 30, 2007.

AKC's Internal Consulting Group provides business consulting services to AKC divisions; identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, increase customer service and increase revenue; and develops future leaders through business training, sport exposure, and hands-on projects within various divisions.

Munchel joined the AKC in August 2003 as an ICG member and has been serving as a Senior Consultant for the past three years. Prior to joining the AKC, she was a Program Analyst for the Budget Department of the City of Greensboro. Munchel holds a Masters in Public Administration from North Carolina State University and a B.S. in Business Administration and Economics from University of North Carolina, Greensboro. She lives in Raleigh with her fiancé Eddie, and is the proud owner of a Havanese.

“We wish Connie well in all her endeavors. She was an important part of our team and will be missed,” said John Lyons, AKC's Chief Operating Officer. “However, I am pleased to be able to promote Kristi. Her years working closely with Connie in the Internal Consulting Group have prepared her well for this assignment and I am confident in her management ability.”
