New York, NY – The American Kennel Club is pleased to announce that Jane Myers has been hired as an Executive Field Representative. 

 

She will join the staff on January 6, 2014 and will be based in Reno/Carson City, Nevada area.

 

“Jane has been immersed in the sport practically since birth, and her extensive involvement in AKC conformation events and in-depth knowledge of handling and breeding will be valuable assets as an Executive Field Representative,” said Patricia Proctor, AKC Senior Executive Field Representative. “We welcome her to the AKC staff.”

 

Myers is a third-generation dog person who went to her first show at five weeks old and showed her first dog when she was eight. She has been an all-breed professional dog handler for several decades, finishing over 200 AKC Champions from all seven groups and winning 12 National Specialties with seven different breeds. Over the course of her career, Myers handled the top-winning German Wirehaired Pointer bitch of all time, the top-winning Clumber Spaniel of all time and the top-winning Petit Basset Griffon Vendeén male of all time. Clumber Spaniel CH Clussexx Country Sunrise won Best in Show at Westminster in 1996 with Myers on the lead.
