Dogs Lead Cats 74% To 26% in Title Of America’s Most Preferred Pet: Vote Now @ www.meetthebreeds.com

New York, NYCalling all cat lovers!  The Cat Fanciers’ Association® (CFA) is calling on you to cast your vote to pronounce cats America’s most favored pet in the MeetTheBreeds.com pet preference poll.  Preliminary results indicate that dogs are leading the pack with 74%, while cats have 26% of the vote.

Inspired by the upcoming Meet the Breeds™ event, the world’s largest showcase of cats and dogs, the American Kennel Club® (AKC) and the CFA have joined forces to put an end to the age old debate: "Are you a dog or cat person?"  You can weigh in and cast your vote now at www.meetthebreeds.com.

Pam DelaBar, President & CEO of the Cat Fanciers’ Association is calling on the nearly 88.3 million cat owners in the United States to wake up from their cat nap and make their purr heard.  "Cat owners outnumber dogs by nearly 13 million among the pet-owning public," said DelaBar.  "What better way to share your love for your feline by casting your vote and giving cats the respect they deserve."

Both dog and cat lovers have begun to weigh in on their choices.  In fact, one meetthebreeds.com cat voter said, "I know I can climb in bed and cuddle with my wonderful cat, who I appreciate for his soft purr that wears away my stress."  Another cat voter said "Our cats have personality, love to play and our Birmans remain playful throughout their life.  They are indoor cats and don’t have to be walked and don’t bark!"  While a dog-loving voter, on the other hand, argued that "Dogs never judge, are always happy to see you, give unconditional love, help the blind to walk and aid others with disabilities live productive lives."
