The Sunflower Cluster, held at the Kansas Coliseum Livestock Pavilion in Valley Center, Kansas, is truly a multi-faceted event. Fanciers and canine athletes gathered to compete in Conformation, Obedience, Agility, Lure Coursing, and Herding. The cluster is a fabulous opportunity for competitors in performance, conformation, and companion events to witness other types of events first-hand, and to see how form follows function in the talented dogs.

The Cluster is also home to the annual Art Show at the Dog Show. Artists submit works in all mediums, which are displayed throughout the show hours. Each year the Best of Show artwork is purchased and donated by the sponsors to the American Kennel Club Museum of the Dog.

This year, the Wichita Kennel Club launched the inaugural competition for Best Junior Handler in the Central Region. Juniors had to qualify for this event with two wins in the Open Class with competition. The Top Junior Handler won a $1,000 scholarship, and the Three Awards of Merit each received a $250 scholarship.
