AKC Family Dog and AKC Gazette Honored for 2nd Consecutive Year as Nominees in Best All-Breed Magazine Category

The American Kennel Club® is pleased to announce that its publications as well as individual work appearing in its pages, received nine nominations from the Dog Writers Association of America as part of its 2007 writing competition.

For the second year in a row, AKC Family Dog, created in 2003, joins its sister, the AKC Gazette, in the category of Best All-Breed magazine. In the fashion of true sibling rivalry, AKC Family Dog won last year for the first time beating out the AKC Gazette which has won the coveted Maxwell medallion in this category twice before.

“We are very pleased to once again receive nominations for our two magazines, the AKC Gazette and AKC Family Dog,” said AKC Publisher John Woods. “But we are especially proud of staffers, Bud Boccone, Mara Bovsun and Erika Mansourian for multiple nominations for their work across several categories.”

The AKC Gazette is the flagship magazine of the American Kennel Club. Published monthly since 1889, it is recognized as the official journal for the sport of purebred dogs.

AKC Family Dog magazine is written for purebred pet owners. Published bimonthly, the publication features expert advice on behavior, training, grooming and health. Edited in a reader-friendly and entertaining style, it's a lifestyle magazine for today's busy families who want to enjoy a rewarding, mutually beneficial relationship with their purebred dog.
