AKC Announces Balloting for Lifetime Achievement Awards for 2004
The American Kennel Club is pleased to announce the 2004 AKC Lifetime Achievement Awards. These awards honor outstanding individuals who have contributed meaningfully to our sport on a national level in the areas of Conformation, Companion Events, and Performance. Nomination ballots have been mailed to all AKC member clubs and are to be returned by
June 15, 2003. AKC will send a second ballot the beginning of July, showing the top three nominees in each category. The ultimate winners will be determined by the results of those votes.
Presentation of the awards, Tiffany and Co. sterling silver engraved bowls will be made at an AKC event to coincided with the AKC Invitational in Long Beach, California. A larger version of the award, a perpetual trophy engraved with the names of past recipients, is on permanent display in the AKC Library in New York.
