WV Update: House Breeder Bill Hearing Rescheduled for TOMORROW (3/20)
The West Virginia House Agriculture Committee is expected to hold a public hearing on House Bill 2838 tomorrow, March 20. This bill as introduced could have detrimental effects on West Virginia breeders and shelters.
An identical measure (Senate Bill 437) was held in the Senate Agriculture committee yesterday, but will likely be considered within the week.
Because of the state’s short legislative session, all bills must be out of committee by March 31. We strongly encourage West Virginia residents to contact the members of the House and Senate Agriculture Committees, as well as your State Delegate and Senator TODAY and ask them to not support House Bill 2838 and Senate Bill 437as currently written.
