The AKC Humane Fund Welcomes Organizations and Corporations

Nine organizations have joined the AKC Humane Fund to raise awareness for responsible dog ownership by becoming Founding Members of the Fund.

These pioneer organizations and companies include:

Dog Judges Association of America
4Kids Entertainment
Pfizer Animal Health
Pet Partners, Inc.
AKC Companion Animal Recovery Corporation
The Have a Heart Ball
St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center
Shaw and Sons Limited

The AKC Humane Fund unites a broad spectrum of animal lovers in promoting the joy and value of responsible pet ownership through education, outreach and grant-making. Monies raised may fund grants to organizations that

  • educate adults and children about responsible pet ownership

  • provide for the health and well being of all dogs

  • preserve and celebrate the human-animal bond and the evolutionary relationship between dogs and mankind.

Clubs, individuals and organizations who join The AKC Humane Fund as Founding Members with a contribution of $1000 or more are commemorated with a permanent plaque at the Wall of Honor in the American Kennel Club's New York headquarters. Founder plaques may also honor or memorialize a special friend, family member or dog.

The AKC Humane Fund, Inc. is a non-profit charitable organization exempt from federal income taxation pursuant to Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations to the AKC Humane Fund are tax deductible as allowed by law. Your contribution will go a long way toward preserving and enhancing the bonds we cherish with our pets.
