Texas Info: Houston's BARC to Hold Stakeholders Meeting on Draft Ordinance Revisions Tonight
Today, the administration of BARC, the City of Houston’s Animal Shelter and Adoption Facility, will hold a stakeholders meeting on its recommended revisions to Chapter 6 of Houston’s Code of Ordinances concerning animal-related regulations. The meeting will take place at 6:30PM to 8:30PM at the Houston Permitting Center, 1002 Washington Avenue, Houston, TX, 77002, in basement training room B2. All concerned Houston residents are strongly encouraged to attend tonight’s meeting and express your concerns.
Under BARC’s current draft, all dog breeders in Houston will be required to be licensed as “commercial breeders.” This is of great concern to AKC.
BARC is expected to have the proposal introduced in the Houston City Council in coming weeks.
