Purina Parent Club Partnership Announcement
March 2005 proved to be a banner month for the alliance between Nestlé Purina PetCare Company and the American Kennel Club Canine Health Foundation. In March, Purina presented the CHF with a $189,063 check from Nestlé Purina PetCare Company representing the 2004 proceeds from the Purina Parent Club Partnership Program (PPCPP).
Not one to rest on its laurels, Nestlé Purina announced in May that the company had struck partnerships with over 143 parent clubs organizations! Throughout the year, Purina Pro Club members that have declared their participation in the PPCP program, submit weight circles from the Purina products they use. Pro Club tracks the value of submitted weight circles and at the end of the year, awards 10% of that value to each of the participating National Parent Clubs.
"This year's participation record is yet another shining example of the outstanding association the Canine Health Foundation has struck with our wonderful partners at Nestlé Purina," says Wayne Ferguson, President of the AKC Canine Health Foundation. "It is through their continued generosity that we are able to continue to fund the outstanding studies that will eventually allow our researchers to eradicate canine diseases."
"Purina is honored to have such close ties with those who are funding this valuable research for our most trusted companions," said Steve Remspecher Nestlé Purina's Director of Marketing for its Breeder/Enthusiast Group, and CHF Board Member, "and, it's still not too late to get on board – we are looking to our clubs to help take this program over the top this year!"
The PPCP program requires that 50% of each of the National Parent Clubs' earnings be donated to the Canine Health Foundation through the CHF donor advised fund programs. The remaining 50% is to be used by the club for education, rescue or additional canine health research.
