The AKC Humane Fund unites a broad spectrum of animal lovers in promoting the joy and value of responsible pet ownership through education, outreach and grant-making. Monies raised may fund grants to organizations that

  1. educate adults and children about responsible pet ownership

  2. provide for the health and well being of all dogs

  3. preserve and celebrate the human-animal bond and the evolutionary relationship between dogs and mankind.

Clubs, individuals and organizations who join The AKC Humane Fund as Founding Members with a contribution of $1000 or more are commemorated with a permanent plaque at the Wall of Honor in the American Kennel Club's New York headquarters. Founder plaques may also honor or memorialize a special friend, family member or dog.
