The American Kennel Club® is pleased to announce the results of the Lots More Dog Fun!sm 2010 AKC Kids’ Corner Art Contest.

 

The contest was in honor of the launching of the AKC Canine Partnerssm program which welcomes mixed-breed dogs to participate in the exciting world of AKC Rally®, Agility and Obedience events.

School children between the grades K-8th were encouraged to submit artwork that showed them doing something fun with their favorite dog whether he is one of the 167 recognized AKC® breeds or a candidate for the AKC Canine Partnerssm program.  Judging is done in two parts to accommodate school schedules. The first round ended April 30th and the winners are:

 

Grades K-2nd
1st Place: Ayush, a 1st grader from Aurora, IL
2nd Place: Mackenzie, a 2nd grader from Elk River, MN
3rd Place: Calista, a kindergartener from Mequon, WI

Grades 3rd-5th
1st Place: Lydia, a 5th grader from Sanford, ME
2nd Place: Delanie, a 3rd grader from Redding, CA
3rd Place: Kyra, a 3rd grader from Sanford, ME

Grades 6th-8th:
1st Place: Tyra, a 6th grader from Brewton, AL
2nd Place: Alexandrea, a 6th grader from Spokane, WA
