The American Kennel Club once again joined the Raleigh (NC) Christmas Parade with a walking unit that included 37 dogs.

Staff members from the AKC North Carolina office and area Fanciers marched with their dogs that represented 29 breeds, including several FSS breeds. Four All-American Dogs represented the AKC Canine Partners program.

Three Bernese Mountain Dogs showed off their drafting skills by pulling carts decorated for the holidays.

The 67th annual parade took place Nov. 19 and ran through downtown Raleigh, passing by the state capitol building. American Idol winner Scotty McCreery, a Raleigh-area native, served as the grand marshal.

The Raleigh parade is the largest holiday parade between Washington, DC, and Atlanta and is viewed by more than 250,000 people, either in person or on television. The parade will be re-broadcast on Christmas morning on WRAL-TV.
