In celebration of the 80th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II, the Kennel Club launched the Royal Dogs Exhibit on May 16, 2006. Princess Anne officially opened the exhibit with AKC Chairman Ron Menaker in attendance.

The exhibit pays tribute to the dogs of the royal family, who have been known for their love of dogs throughout the centuries.  Portraits of royal dogs from Queen Victoria’s reign onward are featured, including works on loan from the AKC.

"It was a great honor to attend the opening of this exhibit, which demonstrates the appreciation the Kennel Club and American Kennel Club share for fine art." said AKC Chairman Ron Menaker. "I know dog fanciers of all ages will be able to enjoy these masterpieces which portray purebred dogs at their finest."

The exhibit is open to the public through July 14, 2006 at the Kennel Club Art Gallery in London.
