The American Kennel Club and the AKC Canine Health Foundation will be presenting a Canine Breeder's Symposium in Ames, Iowa on November 17th and 18th, 2007. The symposium is open to all breeders, experienced and novice, plus anyone with a true dedication to dogs. The program will include topics relevant to a modern and responsible approach to canine medicine and breeding. The symposium will offer dog breeders a forum to meet, learn and share ideas, concerns and expertise. Hosted by the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine, the event will feature such speakers as:
Matthew Ellinwood, DVM, PhD speaking on Canine Genetics; Jessica Clemans, DVM on Immune Mediated Diseases; Kristina Miles, DVM, MS,DACVR speaking on Developmental Skeletal Disease; Wendy Ware, DVM, MS, DACVIM on Canine Cardiology; Karen Kline, DVM, MS, DACVIM on Canine Neurology; Gillian McLellan BVMS, PhD, DACVO, DECVO on Canine Ophthalmology; Christy Petersen, DVM, PhD on Infectious Disease and Dana Fedman, CPDT speaking on Canine Behavior and Training.
The cost of attendance for this day-and-a-half symposium is $125, which includes materials, breakfast both days, lunch on Saturday and parking.
