The American Kennel Club and the AKC Canine Health Foundation will be presenting a Canine Breeder's Symposium hosted by the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Saturday, November 7, 2009. The symposium is open to all breeders, experienced and novice, plus anyone with a true dedication to dogs. This program will include topics relevant to a modern and responsible approach to canine breeding and medicine. The symposium will offer dog breeders a forum to meet, learn and share ideas, concerns and expertise. The event will feature speakers such as Jerry Bell, DVM presenting on Genetics and Pedigrees, Deborah Greco, DVM, PhD, DACVIM giving her lecture Grooming from the Inside, Kathryn Michel, DVM talking on Choosing Diets for Growth and Reproduction, Margaret Casal, PhD, and Cynthia O'Connor, DVM on Canine Reproduction, Shelly Rankin, PhD speaking on Infectious Disease and others. This is a one day program. The cost of general admission is $95. for those wanting Continuing Education Credits, the cost is $200. This course has been submitted (but not yet approved) for 6 hours of continuing educational credits. The cost includes conference materials, as well as breakfast and lunch.
