The American Kennel Club and the AKC Canine Health Foundation will be presenting a Canine Breeder's Symposium in Columbus, Ohio on April 5th and 6th, 2008. The symposium is open to all breeders, experienced and novice, plus anyone with a true dedication to dogs. The program will include topics relevant to a modern and responsible approach to canine breeding and medicine. The symposium will offer dog breeders a forum to meet, learn and share ideas, concerns and expertise. The event will feature such speakers as renowned breeder and lecturer, Claudia Orlandi, PhD, Mary McLoughlin, DVM, DACVS, David Wilkie, DVM, DACVO, John Bonagura, DVM, DACVIM, Laura Nelson, DVM, MS, Traci Shreyer, Dennis Chew, DVM, DACVIM, Cliff Monahan, DVM, PhD, Ana Hill, DVM, PhD, and others.

Among the many topics to be discussed will the ABC's of Breeding, Urinary Incontinence, Canine Ophthalmology, Inherited, Congenital and Acquired Heart Disease, Canine Behavior, Renal Disease, Parasites, Nutrition, and more. The cost of attendance is $135. This course has been submitted (but not yet approved) for 10 hours of continuing educational credits.
