The American Kennel Club and the AKC Canine Health Foundation will be presenting a Canine Breeders’ Symposium hosted by the University of Georgia’s College of Veterinary Medicine located in Athens, Georgia on November 8 & 9, 2008. The Symposium is open to all breeders, experienced and novice, plus anyone with a true dedication to dogs. The program will include topics relevant to a modern and responsible approach to canine breeding and medicine. The symposium will offer dog breeders a forum to meet, learn, and share ideas, concerns and expertise. The event will feature such speakers as the renowned Claudia Orlandi, PhD presenting her ABC’s of Dog Breeding program, Leslie Monroe, DVM on Nutrition, Bruce Hollett, DVM, MS, DACT talking on Canine Reproduction, Kate Creevy, DVM, MS, DACVIM, will speak on Vaccinations, Cynthia Ward, VMD, PhD, DACVIM on Endocrine Disease, Eric Hofmeister, DVM, DACVA speaking on Anesthesia, Simon Platt, MRCVS, DACVIM on Neurology, and others who will speak on canine breeding and health issues.

This is a one and a half day program. The cost of attendance is $135. This course has been submitted (but not yet approved) for 8 hours of continuing educational credits.
