Bulldog Makes the List for First Time in Nearly 75 Years; Labrador Retriever Continues to Fetch Top Spot
The AKC unveiled the reigning Top 10 most popular dog breeds in America based on its 2007 registration figures on Wednesday, January 16th at American Kennel Club headquarters in New York City.
The newest member of the Top 10 list is the Bulldog—widely recognized as a popular sports team mascot— was fitted with a #10 jersey to mark the occasion.
In addition, dogs and puppies representing the top five most popular breeds in America (the Labrador Retriever, Yorkshire Terrier, German Shepherd, Golden Retriever and Beagle) frolicked amongst a backdrop of Bulldog memorabilia and historic canine art work.
