AKC Supports 20th Annual Bark Around the Park

Saturday, April 18, 2009 – Raleigh, NC

The AKC was a sponsor of the 20th annual Bark Around the Park – a celebration of dogs held April 18 in Raleigh, NC.

The AKC Community Events Team staffed a booth and handed out information and answered the public’s questions about AKC and its programs.

AKC also coordinated demonstrations of the AKC sports of Agility, Obedience and Rally. Many breeds, ranging from Bulldogs to Border Collies, showed off their skills.

About 3,500 people attended the event held in Millbrook Exchange Park and organized by the Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department.

The event includes numerous vendors, giveaways, contests and a rabies clinic.

The AKC thanks Town & Country Animal Care Center of Apex, NC, for the generous use of its agility and rally equipment and for the participation of its students in the demonstrations.
