AKC Meet the Breeds, hosted by the American Kennel Club (AKC) and The International Cat Association (TICA) will return to the Jacob Javits Center in New York City on October 20th and 21st, 2012. Last year’s more than 40,000 attendees enjoyed 200 individually decorated official breed booths that allowed dog and cat lovers to interact with dogs, cats, puppies and kittens and learn about their history and unique attributes directly from the experts; 100 vendor booths offered every imaginable product for pets and their owners; and demonstration rings featured law enforcement K9s, grooming, agility, obedience and more. The event was also a big hit with the press, generating nearly 320 million media impressions.

This year’s event will be one not to be missed and will be the perfect place to create lasting memories with dog and cat owners. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the AKC Humane Fund, Inc.

The AKC Humane Fund’s mission is to unite a broad spectrum of animal lovers in promoting the joy and value of responsible pet ownership through education, outreach and grant-making. Grants are provided to breed rescue organizations and women’s shelters that permit pets. Through its programs, the AKC Humane Fund helps rescue activities, assists human-services organizations, and contributes to organizations that support the fund’s mission.
