USDA-APHIS, which oversees enforcement of the federal Animal Welfare Act, has updated its policies on what information it provides to the general public.  The stated goal is to both provide transparency and protect personal information.

Among the most significant changes is a decision to not publish any inspection reports, correspondence, or enforcement records that have not received final adjudication.  The AKC believes this is a prudent measure to reduce misinterpretation or inappropriate use of licensee information.

A list of all licensees and registrants that are regulated under the Animal Welfare Act will still be posted, and information on inspections and enforcement will be subject to the FOIA and Privacy Act.

More information on these changes may be found on the USDA website.
