Breeder of the Year
The first annual AKC Breeder of the Year Award was presented during group judging. Seven outstanding finalists were selected to represent the seven AKC breed groups.
Wendell J. Sammet, a Poodle breeder, was announced as the 2002 Breeder of the Year.
