Community Achievement Awards
The AKC Humane Fund Community Achievement Awards recognize outstanding initiative in public education and legislation efforts of AKC-affiliated clubs, AKC-recognized federations and their members.

Awards are based on:
  • Successful promotion of purebred dogs and dog ownership in their communities
  • Successful introduction, monitoring and response to legislative issues affecting dog ownership
The Public Education Department accepts nominations year-round and names up to three recipients each quarter. Honorees receive:
  • A cash reward of $1000
  • An engraved sterling-silver collar medallion, presented at the AKC/Eukanuba national Championship
  • Their names engraved on a plaque on permanent display at the American Kennel Club Library in New York City
  • An American Kennel Club Community Achievement Award certificate
  • $1000 check, payable to the club or federation’s public education and canine legislation efforts
