The AKC Government Relations team continues to monitor Congress for issues of interest to dog owners. Highlights of issues we are currently addressing on the federal level include:

USDA/APHIS – The US Department of Agriculture, which oversees the federal Animal Welfare Act, has announced adjustments to what licensee information is provided on its website. This includes a decision to not publish any inspection reports, correspondence, or enforcement records that have not received final adjudication. USDA has also noted that, pending ongoing litigation, additional adjustments may be made to these policies.
