The American Kennel Club this week issued a statement of thanks to Senator Liz Figueroa in appreciation of her recent removal of the ear cropping provision from SB1548. By amending the bill, the Senator was able to advance legislation that would enact beneficial regulatory changes to the veterinary community, without infringing on the rights of responsible dog owners.

AKC strongly urges purebred dog owners to contact Sen. Figueroa and thank her for her consideration of the fancy’s concerns. Just a brief e-mail or even a handwritten note is all it takes to recognize the Senator for her work on our behalf. This will also help to ensure a continued positive working relationship between Senator Figueroa’s office and the purebred dog fancy. Congratulations again to all who helped make this win possible!
