Samoyed at Meet the Breeds

There’s a special event at the AKC National Championship presented by Royal Canin in Orlando, Fla. where the only competition may be for which dog breed you fall in love with first. AKC Meet the Breeds® gives dog lovers, adults and children, alike, a unique chance to meet and play with dogs of more than 100 breeds.

This is an interactive, educational event where you’ll visit booths that are decorated to show the breed’s country of origin, as well as historical function and attributes. You’ll meet the dogs and their owners ‚Äî an ideal opportunity to learn about the dog’s personality, needs, and what it’s like to live with that particular breed.

This is a great event for anyone considering adding a dog to the family. Learn about responsible dog ownership and which breeds are good matches for your lifestyle, straight from the experts. Even if you’re not a prospective dog owner, Meet the Breed is a fascinating opportunity to get up close and learn more about the breeds, from the exotic, like the Xoloitzcuintli to the most well known, like the Golden Retriever.

On Saturday, Dec. 16 and Sunday, Dec. 17, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., take a break from the competition to meet and greet dogs and their owners. It’s your chance to get to know almost every breed, from Affenpinscher to Yorkshire Terrier, and everything in between.

Seeing so many breeds together at once really highlights how special each one is. Royal Canin believes that every dog is unique, and that their food should address their individual needs.
