The Versatile Companion Dog titles, approved by the AKC Board of Directors effective January 1, 2001 are popular with the owners of a wide variety of breeds. In the first year, 48 different breeds earned 243 new VCD titles. The trend has continued through 2002.
From January through December of 2002, 60 breeds earned 252 new VCD titles. The list of the following breeds made their debut in 2002 for this prestigious title.
Golden Retrievers started and ended the year with a bang. Earning 22 VCD1 titles, 21 VCD2 titles, and 3 VCD3 titles!
