2007 AKC National Tracking Invitational
Team One - Kevin and Eileen O'Grady

We got Abby from the shelter, when she was about 7 months old. She was joining our calm, obedient black lab Maggie. It didn't take long to realize, she was not going to be just like her older sister.

When we took her to obedience classes, the instructor called her a "goofy chocolate lab." We could never be certain that she would sit/stay and she always seemed to crawl several feet on a down.

Abby was nothing like Maggie on the tracking field either. Maggie was slow and hard to read, but Abby put her nose to the ground and knew exactly where to go. She didn't give Kevin a chance to wonder where the track went, she was taking him through it. She was so powerful; Kevin's strength was often tested.

We would like to thank the German Shepherd Club for the TD, and the Weimaraner Club for the TDX. Special thanks to Rand Park Dog Training Club for the tracking lessons and for the VST. We are so proud of our little girl from the shelter, CT Abby O'Grady.
