2007 AKC National Tracking Invitational
Team One - Louise Mowbray

Redwoods Sea Fox (Rixa-pronounced Reesha) is a very tiny Portuguese Water Dog. She weighs all of 30 pounds and fits in my lap quite nicely. At age 5 she is a true tetra-athlete and has excelled in four canine sports: tracking, agility, obedience (rally), and water work.

Rixa finished her CT before she turned 5. After failing the first TD test she was in as a puppy, she completed her TD, TDX, and VST in only three more trials. She was lucky to get into the first VST test we entered because it was the Portuguese Water Dog Club of Americas National Specialty. She has had a "charmed" tracking life.

She earned her agility MACH last January and was one of the top five Portuguese Water Dogs for the Agility Invitational in January 2008. She just completed her Courier Water Dog title in the PWDCA which is the highest level of water work in the club. Rixa completed her Utility Title at the same National Specialty as she earned her CT and she now has 4 UDX legs. She is trying to help me become a more precise obedience handler but there is not much hope for that. One of the nicest things about Rixa is at the end of the day she loves to curl up in my lap or sit in the chair beside me.
