2005 AKC National Tracking Invitational
Team Two Participant - Ruth Harris

Ruth Harris Ruth has been involved with dog sports most of her life starting with a CD title on an Afghan Hound! Her first tracking title she earned on a Standard Poodle and since then she has put obedience, tracking, Schutzund and conformation titles on various Belgian Tervurens.

For many years she taught classes and educated and entertained children at schools, parks and libraries which was very rewarding for her.

She is a lifetime member of the Mid-Continent Kennel Club and the Belgian Tervuren Club of America. With the help of a couple of friends and advice from Jim Derringer formerly of AKC, they organized the Indian Nations Tracking Club.

At eighty one years of age she no longer lays tracks but still tries to perform other duties for her clubs and also tries to be of assistance to anyone with a serious interest in tracking.

A Champion Tracker title on Onyx was the "icing on the cake" for her and she is constantly amazed at the scenting ability of the dogs she works with, and what they continue to teach her. The love and companionship of the dogs, her three sons, four grandchildren, and many friends continue to make her life a full and happy one!
